The second iteration of Camberwell Press’ bi-annual event ran across four weeks within Camberwell College of Arts. A street-fronting space was reworked by Chan Brisco Architects to form a flexible area capable of hosting studio activity, workshops, panel discussions and a culminating exhibition.
The practice designed furniture to be light and reconfigurable with an undulating birch-trimmed ribbon of chalkboard and irregular pentagonal tables emulating the idiosyncratic forms of the studio. Their ability to shift and tessellate offered a second formal crystallisation as gallery.
Materials were found that would support the production of a palimpsest of activity as the event progressed, with the chalkboard tables bearing the scribed marks of preceding workshops and the wall panelling the pinned imagery and texts of another
