• Attlee Terrace, London, 2017, Competition

Composed to host workshops, classes, and communal events, this timber-framed pavilion looks to support the community of volunteer gardeners that maintain the sunken gardens of Attlee Terrace.

The estate’s dark-stained timber cladding and the half-timbering of its neighbouring homes are familiar to local residents, established characteristics of the surrounding environment. It is within this latent timber building culture that the proposal finds its form.

The scheme is conceived as part of Waltham Forest Council’s initiative, Making Places.
